Frequently Asked Questions

Are the Chagim tile designs engraved or printed?

They are engraved and then painted using our custom colors.

Why do the Chagim tiles come with 8 blanks?

The primary purpose of blanks is to act as a replacement of a lost tile although some players actually play with blanks in the game.

Why do the Chagim tiles have 4 flowers and 4 seasons instead of 8 flowers?

The flower tiles and season tiles are interchangeable in American Mahjong.  We chose to include 4 season tiles to incorporate the tree of life concept into our design.

How easy is it to acclimate to the Chagim tiles?

We designed the Chagim tiles with intuitive colors and symbols to make gameplay easy and we've included a description sheet that explains the meaning of each tile.

What is the blue bag set meant to accommodate?

The Blue Bag Set includes a padded tile bag designed to hold and protect tile sets of any size, along with a padded rack bag to safely store your racks. It also features a dedicated inside pocket for your NMJL card and ample space for a mat, plus any extras you like to bring—such as a coin purse, water bottle, or snacks.

How can we clean the playing mat?

You can wash these neoprene mats in your washing machine.  Use a delicate detergent, cold water, and gentle cycle (with nothing else in the washer).  When finished, lay flat to air dry for at least 1 day.  For stubborn stains you may want to use a laundry stain remover prior to wash but spot test a corner before use.
